The florist sent the flowers was pleased has been generated based on thoughts made in consideration of Favour which hosts a florist and an ARI. Thoughts about what is gained and what is compromised. Thoughts of why I like receiving a bunch of flowers but my bestfriend doesn’t. Thoughts of how we arrange what. About my relationships with plants - about my relationships with people. Thoughts of occasions and company and support mechanisms and how macramé plant hangers are just like friendship bracelets for the plants they hold.
To me, these new works are a detour of thought, akin to the garden path sentence the exhibition gets its name from. With intentions of slipping into the periphery and playing with your predictions.
